Professor Dr. Carsten Jenne
Inorganic Chemistry
Research
The group deals with the molecular chemistry of nonmetals in their entire diversity. In cooperation with partners from universities and industry, basic and applied research is carried out. The research topics range from classical boron cluster chemistry to the use of weakly coordinating anions in catalysis or the stabilization of reactive cations to modern materials for technical applications.
Preparative inorganic synthetic chemistry, quantum chemical calculations, and analytical, spectroscopic, and physical methods provide the tools to address the research topics. The group also operates one of the few specialized laboratories for elemental fluorine handling in Germany.
