In addition, the following funding programs are intended to support young and prospective families:
Travel allowances for active conference participation
PhD students and Postdocs (in a fixed-term employment relationship with the BUW) are entitled to apply for a one-time travel allowance (max. 500 €) for actively attending a conference (poster or lecture). Parents with dependent children are eligible to apply.
Support for pregnant and breastfeeding women

Master's students (in their final thesis), PhD students and postdocs who have to interrupt their practical laboratory work due to pregnancy and/or breastfeeding are entitled to submit a one-time application for a research assistant with a university degree (max. 19 hours per week over a time period of up to six months). The WHF is intended to ensure the continuation of the experimental laboratory activities in order to achieve the desired qualification goal. The applicant is responsible for the supervision of the laboratory activities and the scientific supervision.

To submit an application for funding, send an informal request to the equal opportunities officer (deputy) of the Department of Chemistry and Biology - Dr. Antje Wehner (wehner(at)uni-wuppertal.de), who will contact the dean.

- KidsBoxes – mobile play cabinets for short-term independent childcare at work, which can be borrowed as needed (information and lending available from the Chemistry and Biology Department: Tanja Lohr)
