Lucie Lindenbeck, a doctoral student at the University of Wuppertal in Prof Adam Slabon's working group, was awarded the poster prize for her research in the field of sustainable chemistry at the annual meeting of the GDCh's Sustainable Chemistry Section. Her award-winning poster entitled "Dinuclear iron catalyst on coffee ash for electrochemical lignin depolymerisation" presents innovative approaches to the use of waste products such as lignin and coffee grounds using a stable iron catalyst.
